Description

NaphCare is accepting applications for a Provider Contract Management Specialist at our corporate headquarters located in Birmingham AL. This is not a remote position. Under the direct supervision of theDirector of Utilization Management Administration & Network Development, the Hospital/Provider Contract Analyst will be responsible for building and maintaining hospital and physician networks, which includes negotiating reimbursement rates, market research for healthcare services across the country, cold calling and contract language review. They develop strong relationships with executive teams of our network hospitals and the providers affiliated with our network hospitals in order to achieve network growth and cost targets to support the overall function of the UM department.

Position Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required; master's degree in health care administration or business administration preferred.
  • A minimum of 2 years of healthcare and contract negotiation/ provider contract language required.
  • Understanding of Medicare, Parts A and B reimbursement required
  • Good communication and organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to interact positively with outside clients, providers, co-workers and supervisors.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment, and exercise a high degree of initiative, judgment, discretion and decision making to achieve organizational objectives.
  • Must be able to multi-task and work independently.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Performance Expectations:

  • Negotiates, administers, and executes hospital and physician contracts in accordance with company standards in order to maintain and enhance networks to ensure we meet and exceed quality and financial goals
  • Participates in bid proposals, which includes community health care research and fiscal analysis.
  • Responsible for contracting and operational issues for the life of the contract
  • Ability to work independently and effectively multi-task in a fast-paced, result-oriented environment and exercise a high degree of initiative, judgment, discretion, and decision-making to achieve organizational objectives
  • Must have excellent written, verbal, negotiating, and interpersonal skills; be customer-service oriented; have the ability to problem solve; be well-organized and work and perform independently with hospital executives in all negotiations.
  • Use Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel, to prepare reports and correspondence as needed.
  • Use other internal software.
  • Proactively take action to solve problems and meet established goals.
  • Demonstrate professionalism.
  • Build relationships with supervisors, internal staff, and external providers.
