This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Facilities, and Security. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities.

As a member of a dedicated and highly skilled team of professionals, you will assume the role of overseeing the Production Testing team at our manufacturing facility in Kent, Washington. As Supervisor you will be tasked with guiding a team of leads and technicians in conducting essential engine component testing, including hydrostatic pressure testing, environmental acceptance testing, and other production test support requirements within the Kent manufacturing site. This position will be responsible for ensuring safety, quality, cost-efficiency, adherence to schedule, and employee morale within the Production Testing team.

This hands-on position requires versatile leadership, effective communication, and strong project management skills. In this hands-on leadership role, you will have an impact on all aspects of producing high-quality rocket engine components; enabling first-article success and on-time delivery. The permanent location of this position is Kent, Washington. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention toward safe and repeatable spaceflight.

    • B shift - 2:30 pm - 1 am Mon - Thur

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Production Testing team and associated equipment
  • Recruit and develop the Production Test team
  • Provide mentoring, training, and skills development for team members
  • Promote and inspire teamwork and employee morale
  • Promote and ensure workplace safety
  • Develop and monitor department metrics (Safety, Quality, Cost, Schedule)
  • Perform critical administrative activities including recruiting, performance reviews, coaching, resource planning, and budget management
  • Maintain department schedules to ensure internal delivery targets are met
  • Collaborate with team members to address capacity and scheduling conflicts
  • Drive process improvements to reduce setup times, processing times, and machining times
  • Establish, maintain, and improve workplace 5S and FOD controls
  • Provide status updates on hardware deliveries at a daily scheduled meeting
  • Ensure tools and equipment are maintained and calibrated

Minimum Qualifications

  • 2+ years of leadership experience
  • 3+ years of experience in aerospace or a closely related industry, such as launch vehicles, rocket engines, aircraft engines, aircraft, helicopters, or automotive
  • Experience with setup and operation of Pressurized Test Equipment, Vibration tables, and thermal test equipment or similar systems
  • Excellent communication skills with a strong customer focus
  • Demonstrated experience in continuous improvement
  • Proficiency in business/office computing software
  • Familiarity with nonconformance systems, Manufacturing Execution Systems and MRP systems
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience with recruiting and training a new workforce
  • Previous experience in a production start-up environment
  • Demonstrated experience in planning, forecasting, and capital equipment procurement and upgrades
  • Experience in Hydrostatic Pressure Testing
  • Knowledge of metrology
  • Demonstrated experience working with teams of diverse skill levels

Compensation range for on site WA applicants is $46.08-$64.51
